Kitchen Countertop Installation Done Right the First Time
A countertop fails from the bottom up. Water gets behind the surface, the base softens, and the tile or stone cracks somewhere down the line. So we build the part you never see first: a flat, square, waterproof base that the surface can sit on for decades.
Then the surface goes on. For a tiled counter we set the tile in full-bed thinset over a cement backer or exterior plywood with a bonded waterproofing membrane, and finish the exposed edge with a metal or stone profile that takes knocks. For porcelain slab we support the perimeter and set the slab in large-format thin set with full coverage (no spot-setting). The fabricator mitres and finishes the edge so it reads as one thick slab; we set the finished piece and make the joints right. For stone we fit and set what you or your fabricator supply.
You get a counter that sits flat, drains where it should, and has seams filled with color-matched adhesive instead of the crumbly grey grout that stains after a year. Every counter we install carries the same 1-year workmanship warranty as the rest of our work.
Before you book, read how each tile material changes what the surface behind it can take. It is five minutes and it saves guessing.
In New Britain we set quartz, granite and marble countertop tile, on full-bed thinset with a detailed edge, working alongside your fabricator on the cut piece.

Daniel did some tile work for me and I couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out. Absolutely amazing work and craftsmanship. He showed up on time, was very professional throughout the whole job, and did a fantastic job. You can tell he takes pride in his work and pays attention to the little details. Good, reliable contractors aren’t always easy to find, and Daniel is definitely one of them. The quality of the work was excellent, everything was done right, and he was worth every penny. I will definitely use him again and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him to anyone looking for quality tile work. Highly recommend! Daniel, thank you so much for getting the job done on short notice.

Frequently Asked Questions
Countertops Questions, Straight Answers
No. Daniel and his own crew do the tile work. We do not hand your job to a third-party installer, so the same people who set the tile are the ones in your house every day of the install, and you deal with one company from the estimate through the final clean-up.
A straight kitchen counter with no fabrication is usually a one to two day job including the waterproofing and cure time. Cutouts, an island, or a mitred edge add time. We give you a written schedule at the estimate so you know the days we need.
That depends on the material. Tile and a standard porcelain or granite tile counter we cut on site. A large porcelain slab or a cut-out stone top is cut and finished by a fabricator, either one you already use, or one we can recommend. We set the finished piece and make the joints right.
Sometimes, but we rarely recommend it. The old laminate is usually laid in a bed of adhesive with no solid base, which is exactly the kind of flex that cracks tile later. We would rather build a proper base and give you a counter that lasts. If the existing counter is already tiled on a sound base we can work with it.
Not if the counter is built right. The surface is set in full-bed adhesive on a waterproofed base, we leave a small movement gap at the wall and fill it with silicone rather than grout, and any cut-out for a sink is sealed. Water sits on top and wipes off instead of finding a way into the cabinet below.
You buy it, we set it. Plenty of clients come to us with stone or porcelain already chosen and cut by a fabricator, and we set and install the finished piece. Others want a tiled counter built from tile they pick with us. Tell us where you are in the process and we will tell you honestly what still needs to happen before we can install.
